New World Development appoints Non-Executive Director

New World Development Company Limited ("NWD" or "the Group", Hong Kong stock code: 17) announced today that Ms Ki Man-Fung, Leonie, JP has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director of the Group, with effect from today.

Dr Henry Cheng Kar-Shun, Managing Director of NWD welcomes Ms Ki to be a member of the Board, "On behalf of the Board of Directors, let me express my warm welcome to Ms Ki. She has been in service with the Group for a number of years and has accumulated extensive experiences. We believe that her experiences and talents could further enhance her development in the Board."

Ms Ki is pleased about the appointment, "I am honoured to be appointed as a Non-Executive Director of NWD. I will devote my best endeavor and work closely with the Board so as to enhance shareholders' value. At the same time, I will strengthen the communication with internal and external parties, and uphold stakeholders' interest."

Having served in NWD for a number of years, Ms Ki is the Managing Director of New World China Enterprises Projects Limited since 1997, and is now a Director of Kunming New World First Bus Services Limited and a Director of certain subsidiaries of the Group.

Ms Ki has an outstanding track record in the field of advertising and public relations. She was the Founder, Partner and Chairman or Chief Executive Officer of various renowned advertising agencies. Ms Ki is also a popular writer and columnist. Her composition includes an advertising publication in Chinese, being the first of its kind.

In addition to being a successful professional, Ms Ki is also passionate on community and social services, education and Mainland affairs. She has helped set up The Better Hong Kong Foundation and served as its first Chief Executive. Also, she is a council member of UNICEF, a life member of the Children's Cancer Foundation, Trustee of Ocean Park Conservation Fund, Honorary Secretary of Wu Zhi Qiao Charitable Foundation, a member of the Sports Commission of Hong Kong, and a member of the Hong Kong Housing Society. On the education side, she is a Court and Council member of Lingnan University, a member of the Asian Advisory Board of Cheng Yu Tung Management Institute, Richard Ivey School of Business (University of Western Ontario, Canada), a member of the Advisory Board of the EMBA Program of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), and a member of the Career Advisory Board of the University of Hong Kong. She has put great effort in training the talents in the Mainland, by initiating the New World / Harvard Kennedy School of Government Fellows Program which sends top Mainland officials to Harvard University for training. She also contributed to the development of the Mainland by being a CPPCC member of Yunnan Province.
