Sha Tin 18 Hunter's wine dinner

The one-night-only experience with award-winning viticulturist Jane Hunter

Riding on the success of the Hunter's Wine Dinner last summer, Sha Tin 18 at Hyatt Regency Hong Kong, Sha Tin is proud to welcome back award-winning viticulturist Ms Jane Hunter from New Zealand, to host another wine-pairing dinner on 9 September 2011.

Having gained the title of the "First Lady of New Zealand wines", Jane is a recipient of the prestigious UK Women in Wine Award and has an OBE and an honorary doctorate for her outstanding contribution to the wine industry. Exactly 25 years after taking over managing Hunter's Wines, Jane was appointed a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit (CNZM) for services to viticulture and contributions to the New Zealand economy.

Jane and her late husband Ernie Hunter, founded Hunter's Wines with the dream of developing Marlborough as a premier wine-growing region in 1979. Believing that quality exceeds quantity, Hunter's Wines has garnered more than 160 gold medals at major competitions. With a cool climate, low rainfall, long sunshine hours, stony, free-draining soil, and a long ripening season, grapes at Hunter's vineyards produce wines with very complex and developed flavours.

On this one-night-only occasion, Chef Ngai will prepare a special six-course menu with matching wines for each course, including the renowned Peking Duck, Wok-fried New Zealand lamb fillet with cashew nuts and caraway seeds, and mouth-watering kiwi desserts.
