NWFB and Citybus garnered the Merit Award in the Second Hong Kong Outstanding Corporate Citizenship Award

New World First Bus ("NWFB") and Citybus garnered Merit Award in Service Enterprise category in the "Second Hong Kong Outstanding Corporate Citizenship Award" co-organized by Hong Kong Productivity Council and the Committee on the Promotion of Civic Education, in recognition of the good performance in the implementation and promotion of corporate social responsibility.

As a responsible corporate citizen, NWFB and Citybus have committed to implement corporate social responsibility programmes in various aspects including care of staff and community, environmental protection, quality bus services and safety and health. In 2008, NWFB and Citybus set up the "Volunteer Alliance Steering Committee" to encourage staff to participate in charitable activities. Joining hands with Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Fong Shu Chuen Day Activity Centre since 2008, the companies have carried out diversified volunteer activities to enhance the communication ability of the mentally disabled trainees and to develop their confidence.

In addition, NWFB and Citybus set up the "Green Office Steering Committee" to implement a series of environmental protection measures. We continued to invest in fleet replacement by purchasing environmental friendly buses to further improve emission.

The "Second Hong Kong Outstanding Corporate Citizenship Award" was organized by Hong Kong Productivity Council and the Committee on the Promotion of Civic Education, in recognition of the corporate social responsibility excellence made by the organizations in Hong Kong.
