New World Group Wins Best Practice Awards for Nurturing Talent of All Levels

New World Development Company Limited ("New World Group", "the Group"; Stock Code: 17.HK) has garnered two titles in the Best Practice Awards 2012 for its commitment and excellence in implementing its mentoring, and training and talent development programmes for its staff.

Earning for the Group the award in the Mentoring Programme Development category is the Group Management Trainee Programme launched in 2011. Under this two-year programme, each trainee, appointed under a vigorous selection process, is assigned a mentor who is a senior executive in the Group. In addition to providing an optimal environment for grooming potential executives to cope with the Group's continuous business development, the mentoring approach has also been benefiting the mentors who have the opportunities to further polish their coaching, counselling, influencing and management skills.

The Group is also named the winner of the Training and Talent Development category for its professional execution in training and developing future leaders. Believing that training is meaningful only when it supports corporate development, in 2011, the Group established The New World University ("NWU") which aims to accelerate staff's competence development and support our succession plan strategically. NWU comprises a number of programmes including the 16-month New World Star Executive Development Programme powered by the Richard Ivey School of Business of the University of Western Ontario for high performers at management level who have the potential to become top executives. This tailore-made programme aims to strengthen participants' leadership and management skills, business vision and international perspective. For junior high-flyers, two other programmes,New World Group Management Trainee Programme and New World YoungSTAR Programme, are offered to provide structured training to help unleash their potential to become future executives.

Organised by the Best Practice Management Group, the Best Practice Awards has acknowledged companies which have implemented defined business processes to reap tangible benefits to its business and customers.
