New World Group Family Open Day Open House for Staff's Family Members
With the aim to promote a better relationship between the company, staff members and their families, New World Development Company Limited (the "Group"; Stock Code: 17.HK) recently held the New World Group Family Open Day in which families of staff members were invited to the office to learn more about the working environment of staff members.
Adrian Cheng and Gary Chen, Executive Directors and Joint General Managers of the Group, attended the welcoming party cum Staff's August Birthday Party. They sang the birthday song with staff members and shared an enjoyable afternoon with their families. "The Group appreciates the time and efforts devoted by staff members. Coinciding with the summer holidays, we have invited family members to visit the second home of the staff member - their workplace. The Group treasures our staff and their families, we hoped that this activity could create a better understanding between family members and let the children get to know their parents better." Adrian Cheng explained the purpose of the Family Open Day.
The conference room has turned into a family activity room. Other than distributing little gifts and shaped balloons, the Group has arranged handicraft making sessions for the children to make caps and coloured sand pictures with their parents. The party felt like a party for the New World family as the children from different families got to know each other in no time. The children were encouraged to present the handicraft to their parents as a gift for the efforts staff members put in for their families. After the party, staff members brought their children to their offices, allowing them to know more about the place and people where their parents have been working hard for their future. The giggling of children filled up offices with vitality. NWS Holdings Limited under the Group also held their "NWS Family Visit Day" on the same day to bring staff members' families into the workplace and share the story of life.
New World Group understands the needs of staff and implemented various family friendly practices including five-day work week and offers various holidays to employees on special occasions, such as 3-day paid paternity leave for employees to take care of their wife and newborn baby. The Group has organized a Group Fun Day earlier to build team spirits as well as allowing family members to enjoy a fun packed event.The Group regularly organizes recreational activities such as parent-child cooking class to encourage staff to spend more time with their families.During traditional festivals such as Tuen Ng Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival, the Group has presented rice dumplings and mooncakes to staff for their enjoyment with their families.
