New World Group Establishes New World Sports Club

New World Development Company Limited ("NWD" or "The Group"; Hong Kong stock code: 17) is a strong supporter for local sports development. In addition to reviving Harbour Race which has been suspended for 33 years in Hong Kong and cooperating with the Hong Kong Athletes Career and Education Programme under the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong to provide job opportunities to athletes, the Group now establishes the New World Sports Club ("Sports Club") to signify its support to make local sports more accessible.

The Sports Club organizes corporate teams and training courses by professional coaches to staff members of the Group. A volleyball team, a fencing course and a long distance running team are set up and led by Louise Lo, former representative of Hong Kong Fencing Team, Aaron Cheng, former representative of Hong Kong Athletic Team, and Ronnie Tse, First Division volleyball player, who have joined the Group.

The Group believes that the sporting activities not only build up the team spirit amongst staff members, but also enhance their mental and physical agilities and improve their perseverance and endurance. With the assistance by the outstanding athletes, the Group hopes to inspire staff members to pursue excellence at work and in life, bringing positive energy to their colleagues as well as their families and friends.
