New World Development Wins Host of Awards For its Dedicated Artisanal HR Management Strategies

New World Development Company Limited (the “Group”; Hong Kong Stock Code: 00017)  won two prestigious awards, including the Best of the Best Award (Construction / Real Estate Category) at the HR Summit & Expo Hong Kong 2016, and the 2015 Customer Relationship Excellence (CRE) Awards in recognition of the great efforts the Group has invested in human resources management. The Artisanal Movement, the Group’s new brand personality, curated by Adrian Cheng, Executive Vice-chairman and Joint General Manager of the New World Development Company Limited, encourages every employee to exercise a spirit of “We Create, We are Artisans”.

At the HR Summit & Expo Hong Kong 2016, the Group was presented with The Best Places to Work in Hong Kong Award (Construction / Real Estate Category) together with the Best of the Best Award in the same category to acknowledge the dedication it has toward its employees’ wellbeing and its desire to establish an ideal workplace. Moreover, the Group won the Corporate Employer of the Year and Employee Engagement Programme of the Year under the Property Development category at the 2015 Customer Relationship Excellence Awards.

The HR Summit & Expo Hong Kong 2016 is co-organised by HRM Asia and Diversified Communications. Those achieving the highest number of votes from corporate executives and professional HR practitioners in each category were further recognised by receiving the Best of the Best Awards based on several criterions such as corporate culture, learning and development opportunities, management / leadership as well as work-life balance policies.

Organised by the Asia Pacific Customer Service Consortium, the International CRE Awards promote service quality and customer relationship excellence in international cities across many regions. The award winners were selected through a comprehensive balanced score card of business case presentations, public voting and site visit assessments by the judging panel who carefully followed the Customer Service Quality Standard (CSQS) criteria. Assessment areas included management responsibility, resources management, process management and performance management.

The Group has introduced a flexible health care benefits scheme allowing employees to convert their benefits into ”care points” that can be used for medical check-ups or medical fee subsidies. A proper work-life balance has also been another major Group emphasis as witnessed by the various family-friendly measures they have initiated, including the Inventing Your Future Education Sponsorship Scheme for employees’ children as well as family care leave and flexible working hours. 

Moreover, the unique and innovative screening protocol “Artisans Blast” has been introduced into the Group’s Management Trainee Programme. Breaking from traditional approaches, the Group hopes to recruit more Artisans who can appreciate its brand values.
