New World Development & 25 group companies won Caring Company Logo
New World Development Company Limited ("New World Group" or "the Group", Hong Kong stock code : 0017) and its 25 group companies have been awarded the 2005/06 Caring Company Logo by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service during the ceremony today, recognising their contribution and outstanding performance during the past year in corporate social responsibility.
Nearly 1,000 companies have been awarded the Caring Company Logo this year, the New World Group is among one of the organisations with the higher number of awardees. The Group has six new companies joining the league this year, they are Hong Kong New World Department Store Company Limited, New World TMT Limited, New World Renaissance Hotel, Urban Parking Limited, International Property Management Limited (Car Park Operations) and Sky Connection Limited.

Corporate social responsibility is one of the main concerns of the Group and its companies, we have been actively participating and supporting in numerous charity projects. Many of the Group's companies have become active members in charity and fundraising efforts with UNICEF in the Mainland and Hong Kong during the past three years. The Group has also established a corporate volunteer team to foster volunteering spirit within the Group and to provide services to the community. The Group forges a stronger tie with the community at large through this continuous volunteer effort.
The New World Group concerns about the needs of the underprivileged group. The Group supported "Modern Apprenticeship" last year, a joint venture with Delia Group of Schools, providing scholarship, apprentice training for the Form 5 school leavers. The Group has sponsored all the operation expenditure, and encouraged staff attending mentorship training. The Group also provided job opportunities for some graduates upon completion of the programmes.
