Thanks to its natural advantages of a mild climate, rich coastal seas and fertile soils, New Zealand is recognised around the world for the finest seafood and agricultural products.For its "New Zealand Seafood Dinner Buffet" promotion, Congress Restaurant is presenting a series of New Zealand gourmet dishes incorporating the finest imported New Zealand seafood, lamb, beef, vegetables and fruit. "The New Zealand culinary promotion at Hong Kong's Congress Restaurant at the HKCEC is an exciting event, promoting the best of Kiwi culinary creations to many international and local guests through its popular dinner buffet from August to October," Wellington's Mayor Ms Celia Wade-Brown said during a visit to the restaurant. "I like to think of Wellington as the culinary capital of New Zealand and I must commend Congress Restaurant for this wonderful initiative, especially the chef's inspiration for creating food combinations that perfectly bring out the full flavours of New Zealand's fine, fresh ingredients."

The chef's recommendations include New Zealand Abalone Carpaccio, Barbecued Lamb Chop and Sautéed Southern Clam and Green Mussel with White Wine cooked as you watch, and Zucchini Roulade with Queen Scallop and Kiwi. Other enticing delights created by our chefs include Slow-cooked New Zealand "Osso Bucco", Apple and Seafood Cocktail with Mango and Golden Kiwi Dressing, and Roasted New Zealand Rib Eye of Beef served with Horopito Avocado Oil.

To make the most of the New Zealand flavours, don't miss our fine selection of New Zealand-themed desserts, which include Cheese Honey Bavaroise with Manuka Honey Flakes, Pineapple Shortcake, Apple Tarte Tatin, Golden Kiwi and Honey Yoghurt, Tamarillo Pavlova, Kaffir Lime and Chocolate Cheese Cake, and Fejoa Fruit in Flaxseed and Honey Log. Scrumptious!

New Zealand is also home to some of the world's most distinctive wines.Congress Restaurant offers nearly 100 kinds of New Zealand wines at its New Zealand Wine Corner, where sommeliers will be available on specified days to share their knowledge and expertise.

The New Zealand Seafood Dinner Buffet is available daily from 6:30pm to 10:00pm from now until 31 October 2011
