NWS Holdings won international communication awards

NWS Holdings Limited ("NWS Holdings" or the "Group"; Hong Kong stock code: 659) communication products garnered awards in the prestigious 2011 Gold Quill Awards and Astrid Awards 2011, recognizing the Group's distinguished performance in business communication.

Newsletter of the Group, New Voice, captured a Bronze Award in the "Employee Publications" category in Astrid Awards 2011 and an Award of Merit in the "Publications" category in 2011 Gold Quill Awards while NWS Holdings' FY2010 Annual Report also awarded a Bronze Award in Astrid Awards under the "Annual Reports - Corporations" category.

Maria Cheung, General Manager - Corporate Communication stated, "We are proud to receive the awards which are testimonies to the Group's effective communication."

Since published in 2000, New Voice keeps the Group's staff members and stakeholders abreast of the Group's latest development. Thanks to the bi-annual reader survey, New Voice is now revamped to not only cover Group news, but also provide lively information and encourage staff participation, nurturing a sense of belonging in the Group and project a dynamic and caring corporate image.

With the tagline "Scaling New Heights", NWS Holdings' FY2010 Annual Report emphasizes the Group's commitment in achieving long-term growth. Two big red and orange puzzles symbolizing the Group's core businesses, infrastructure and services, are positioned in the eye-catching area with emboss effect on the cover. Jigsaw puzzle was chosen to be the main visual theme throughout the report given that a business is like a jigsaw puzzle which requires the right pieces to fit together.

Known as the Oscar of business communication, the annual Gold Quill Awards presented by International Association of Business Communicators has honoured the best in business communication for more than 35 years. This year, some 900 entries received from 26 countries went through three rigorous rounds of judging by communication experts worldwide.

Organized by MerComm, Inc., the Astrid Award symbolizes the stellar qualities of creativity and originality in design. Nearly 500 entries from around the world were received which were judged by international panels of design professionals on the basis of concept, creativity, message clarity and production.
