New World Group has Made Hiu-Yin’s Dream Come True
(31 July 2006, Hong Kong) New World Development Company Limited ("New World Group" or the "Group"; Hong Kong stock code: 0017) always cares for those in need. Recently, the Group is delighted in fulfilling the wish of a girl with serious illness.
12-year-old Chau Hiu-Yin suffers from mucopolysuccharidosis IV, a type of life-threatening congenital illness. This illness affects Hiu Yin's physical growth and causes deformities of her body. She is now wheelchair bound and has to return to hospital 2 to 3 times a year for follow-ups for her eyes, bone and heart.
Her parents have taken her to the Congress Restaurant at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. She especially likes the spectacular harbour view and the beautiful interior design of this restaurant. Since then, she always dreams that one day she can enjoy buffet dinner there, to enjoy a delicious meal and to appreciate the famous night view of Hong Kong.
Having received the request from Make-A-Wish Foundation of Hong Kong, New World Group immediately arranged a free buffet dinner of 12 people for Hiu-Yin at Congress Restaurant on 29 July 2006 (Saturday) without hesitation.
Hiu-Yin's wish has come true. She enjoyed the dinner and shared the joy with her family and friends. The Group is grateful to have created such a special and everlasting memory for this cheerful young lady.
