New World Group commits to staff training and is awarded with Manpower Developer 1st

New World Group regards staff as an important asset to the company and is always committed to providing comprehensive training for its staff in order to help them in achieving outstanding working performance. New World Development Company Limited ( "NWD", "New World Group" or the "Group", Hong Kong stock code : 17), NWS Holdings Limited ("NWS", Hong Kong stock code: 659) and its subsidiaries NWS Engineering Group Limited, Urban Property Management Limited and Waihong Environmental Services Limited, are awarded with Manpower Developer 1st under the ERB Manpower Developer Award Scheme ("the Scheme"), proving their commitment and excellent performance in staff training. 

The Scheme aims at promoting a corporate culture based on manpower training and development among organizations, and recognizing and supporting employers who are committed to manpower training and development. Preliminary assessment and site inspection were conducted in order to select the Manpower Developer 1st companies, with the following five criteria: Leading a Learning culture, Resources Planning, Training and Development System, Performance Management and Corporate Social Responsibility in Manpower Development. 

New World Group is devoted to organizing regular internal training courses for the staff in order to enhance working skills of the staff in different perspectives. Workshops and seminars are also arranged to assist them in achieving work-life balance. Moreover, the Group partners with Richard Ivey School of Business of The University of Western Ontario to launch the "New World Star Executive Development Programme" to provide a 15-month leadership training programme to experienced executives of the Group. Apart from acquisition of practical management knowledge, the participating employees can exchange their ideas, learn from one another and inspire one another's creativity so as to upgrade their management skills. In August 2008, the Group embarked upon its first "Corporate Management Officer Training Programme", a two-year programme to nurture young talents for the Group.
