New World China Land Won "China Best Low-Carbon Enterprise" Award

New World China Land Limited ("New World China Land" or "NWCL", or "the Group"; HK Stock Code: 917) won "China Best Low-Carbon Enterprise" Award in the evaluation and selection event jointly initiated and hosted by the Economic Observer and National Research Institute of Economic Observation, and was honored with "2009-2010 China Best Low-Carbon Enterprise". The Group was the only Hong Kong enterprise among the 20 winners including domestic and transnational corporations.

New World China Land is committed to advocating green actions in the course of real estate operation, and promoting and practicing low-carbon and emission-reduction lifestyle in its communities. For example, a total 14 business project of New World China Land have taken part in the "Earth Hour" lights off event initiated by the WWF (World Wildlife Fund) for two consecutive years, and called on its 50 communities in 20 cities to jointly take part in the event in 2010. On January 2010, New World China Land joined the Group's Environmental Protection Committee. Consisting of the management of member companies, the Group's environmental protection committee will be responsible for establishing the Group's environmental goals and policies, and the environmental strategies that are updated from time to time. New World China Land will vigorously fulfill its social responsibility for environment, explore the latest environmental measures, and gradually develop into a "green enterprise".

Mr Adrian Cheng Chi-Kong, Executive Director of New World China Land, said, "New World China Land has been endeavoring to explore and practice the ideas of green community; from old town reconstruction to the management of large-sized comprehensive communities, the Group has persisted in creating ‘Green New Home' from the standpoint of sustainable development; winning the honorable title of ‘China Best Low Carbon Enterprise' is an acknowledgement of work, and rather a spur on us; in the future, the Group will continue the application of green technologies in its projects, and drive more than 70,000 owners of NWCL nationwide to participate in the building of green community, and make joint efforts to contribute to national energy conservation and emission reduction."

As the first authoritative low-carbon enterprise appraisal in the Chinese Mainland, this appraisal event conducts a systematic assessment on comprehensive effects of low-carbon items of enterprises' low-carbon goals with overall indicators, and enjoys extensive credibility in the industry and media. The event aims to find best performers among enterprises in the "low-carbon" era, and provide a benchmark and reference to Chinese enterprises' advancing to the low-carbon era. The appraisal body spoke highly of New World China Land's concept of green building and sustainable low-carbon development, and its outstanding performance in actively applying green operation from the inside and advocating its communities and the public to practice green life, etc.
