The kick-off ceremony of the Sichuan farm house rebuild programme jointly launched by New World China Land and Habitat for Humanity China

New World China Land ("NWCL", stock code: 917.HK) joined hand with an international non-profit organization, Habitat for Humanity China, to launch a farm house rebuild programme for Sichuan's impoverished families whose houses were destroyed in the earthquakes. The kick-off ceremony was taken place at the Yongxing village in Jiuchi Town, a division of Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province.

New World China Land has donated RMB 672,000 to Habitat for Humanity China for 40 farmhouses rebuild. The entire amount will be used for house rebuild in Sichuan and Guangdong's poverty-hit areas. This is the biggest project jointly launched by Habitat for Humanity China and China's property developer.

Liu Hanjun, Secretary of Jiuchi Town Government, Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province, Chen Guanzhan, Executive Director and Joint General Manager of New World Group, Kester Yim, Managing Director of Habitat for Humanity China, and Lynda Ngan, Executive Director of New World China Land Limited, officiated at the kick-off ceremony. Other guests include media friends from Hong Kong and China, and also the volunteers.

Apart from donation, New World Group had recruited volunteers to participate in this meaningful event and contribute their love to the underprivileged families. 25 volunteers from New World Volunteer Team, Love.New World Volunteers Club and China Young Leaders Foundation supported this event and served as house builders, farmers and teachers for 5 days.

The volunteer team comprises corporate staff comes from Hong Kong and China as well as university students of China Young Leaders Foundation. Apart from participating in the construction work, interest classes, such as photography, drawing and music class were also organized by the university delegates, bringing joy and warmth to the underprivileged kids.
