Hyatt Regency Hong Kong is Back

New World Development joins hands with Hyatt Hotels & Resorts again
 

The new Hyatt Regency Hong Kong will make a glorious return to the heart of Kowloon's Tsim Sha Tsui district in 2009.

Announced November 29, 2007 at the signing ceremony between New World Development Company Limited ("New World Development") and Hyatt Hotels & Resorts ("Hyatt"), Hyatt will manage a luxurious 384-room hotel, which is part of the prestigious mixed-used complex in Hanoi Road. Hyatt Regency Hong Kong is the second New World Development owned hotel bearing the Hyatt name in Hong Kong. Hyatt has been managing New World Development's Grand Hyatt Hong Kong since its opening in 1989.

Situated in the heart of the Tsim Sha Tsui Kowloon business district, one of the tallest skyscrapers in Kowloon, the hotel will overlook Victoria Harbour, Hong Kong Island and Kowloon.

The former Hyatt Regency Hong Kong closed the final chapter of its illustrious history on January 1, 2006 after 36 years of serving guests with style and panache, pioneering services that are considered standard today. It was opened in November 1, 1969 and quickly established itself as an important hospitality landmark in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong's commercial and entertainment district. It was not only providing accommodation to guests, but earned a reputation as a lively hotspot in Kowloon.

The 384-room Hyatt Regency Hong Kong, located from Level 3 to 24 of the complex which include a five-storey shopping arcade with an array of boutiques and stores. It offers direct access to the Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station located in the basement of the building. Hugo's, The Chinese Restaurant, the Chin Chin Bar, the Cafe ... all familiar names from the former property return to the new hotel with a wonderful sense of nostalgia.

Hugo's, which captured the hearts of many generations, will be situated at the Lobby Level, and include some of the original decor, including the wooden floor, antiques, as well as Hugo himself, complete his armour. The Cafe also located at the Lobby Level, will serve international fare from a show kitchen where guests can witness the action of the food being prepared there and then. The Chinese Restaurant and Chin Chin Bar will be located on Level 3, offering authentic Chinese cuisine and the latter is a perfect spot to unwind and relax.

A total of 7,040 square feet will be dedicated to meeting space, including a 4,111 square feet ballroom and eight meeting rooms of different sizes, perfect for events and meetings. All meeting facilities will be equipped with the latest audio-visual technology and wireless Internet connectivity.

Hyatt Regency Hong Kong will have a contemporary design with a strong sense of home comfort. The rooms are situated from Levels 10 to 24. The hotel will have 384 well appointed guestrooms, include 33 luxurious suites, and some of the rooms overlook Victoria Harbour and the spectacular skyline of Hong Kong Island, while all rooms feature a flat-screen TV with cable and satellite programming; a personal safe with a built-in laptop charger; a private bar with a sizeable workstation equipped with enhanced lighting; and wireless and wired broadband Internet access. The bathroom features a separate shower with rain showerhead and a soaking tub. Some rooms offer spacious walk-in dressing chambers with front and rear mirrors.

The hotel's Regency Club, located on Level 23 and 24, covers a 3,336 square feet, offers guests panoramic views of the Victoria Harbour; The Peak; Lion Rock, the Kowloon Peninsula and Hong Kong Island the moment they step out of the elevator. The view in an ideal backdrop for Regency Club guests; and the meeting room on Level 24 with floor-to-ceiling windows, will make any meeting an event.

Guests can explore the tranquillity of The Sky Garden, located on Level 9, the 15,070 square feet open-air courtyard is designed graciously with plenty of greenery and space for a relaxing sanctuary, a perfect antidote for the bustle of Hong Kong. A 25-metre indoor swimming pool, an outdoor whirlpool, a children's swimming pool and a fully-equipped exercise studio occupy Level 8, offering guests the chance to exercise, relax or enjoy time-out from their schedule.
