K11 celebrates the world’s first K11 Design Store opening in Hong Kong
Bringing "Art．People．Nature" together in harmony, the K11 Art Mall is presenting the world's first original brand - K11 Design Store, introducing an array of international quality and innovative designers' collections, which are exquisitely selected from all over the world.To mark this momentous milestone for K11, Mr. Adrian Cheng, the Founder and Chairman of K11, has officiated at the gala opening ceremony and cocktail reception of K11 Design Store. Mr. Cheng said wandering in K11 Design Store is like visiting a design museum. Therefore, shoppers not only appreciate the design, but also understand the inspiring story and rationale behind its genius creators and designers.
The new store covers 3,000 square meters, featuring 1,000 thoughtfully selected products from outstanding designers' brands all over the world, including but not limited to France, Italy, UK, Denmark, The Netherlands, USA, South Africa, Japan, Taiwan and Thailand, of which exceed 60%, designer brands and products are for the first time introduced to Hong Kong. Brands include the award-winning Taiwan LED lighting brand QisDesign which has received 49 internationally design awards, an emerging designer brand Petite Friture that stands out in Maison et Objet in Paris, US-based hand-crafted home décor brand Lunares, Bombarock, ECOALF, Designer Carpets, Perigot, Canvasworks, Italesse etc.
At the opening ceremony of K11 Design Store, K11 also proudly announced the debut of "Star of K11" Scheme which helps to foster the development of talented young artist in local creative scene.The first "Star of K11" artist today has unveiled this meaning scheme with a conceptual multimedia art exhibition which explores the theme of "Gene". He has created a world of fascination filled with beauty and symbols of art history; he manipulates allegorical symbols in his work with a unique mixture of aesthetics and scientific knowledge.
