New World Group is committed to providing comprehensive training for its staff in
order to help them in achieving outstanding performance. In 2010, NWD and its subsidiaries
were awarded with "Manpower Developer 1st" under the ERB Manpower Developer
Award Scheme, proving their commitment and excellent performance in staff training.
The Group continuously arranges regular internal training courses in order to improve
our employees' skills in leadership, management, customer services, occupational
safety, interpersonal communications and self-improvement.
The Group Training and Development Department has established a comprehensive training
system namely "The New World University" in January 2011, providing sustainable
and systematic staff training in the long run. "The New World University"
comprises five programmes, namely "New World Star Executive Development Programme"
("NWSED" Programme), "Accelerating Management Talent Programme"
("AMT" Programme), Management Trainee Programme, Annual Management Forum
and series of training courses, with an aim to enhance the management and working
skills of staff members.
Co-launched by NWD and Richard Ivey School of Business of The University of Western
Ontario, NWSED Programme is a 15-month leadership training programme offered to
senior executives of New World Group. The Group has also invited managerial staff
to join the 12-day "AMT" Programme to exchange ideas on management and
establish network. The Group expects that the participating employees can inspire
each other's creativity and, upgrade the management skills.
In 2010, the Group kick started its second "New World Group Management Trainee
Programme" in Hong Kong and the "New World Group PRC Management Trainee
Programme" in Mainland China. Both programmes comprise cross-industry on-the-job
trainings and mentorship schemes to equip trainees with managerial skills. They
can also learn the business and working culture of the Group, benefiting to their
career development.
In July 2010, the Group held its first Management Forum themed "Change Management
and Proactive Leadership" with an aim to encourage managerial staff members to explore ways to implement management revolution and promote team morale in changing times. In July 2011, the Group held the Annual Group Management Forum again to explore how to pursue quality excellence. Professional management consultant, representatives from business corporations and the Group’s management were invited as the speakers. Through the Annual Management Forum, the Group’s management and managerial staff can deepen their understanding of the Group's Vision, Mission and Core Values. The Group hopes to encourage unity and innovation among its management for building positive brand identity through forum of such kind.
