New World Hospitality hotel management company has completed a transaction to purchase Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, L.L.C. Rosewood Hotels & Resorts will operate as the ultra-luxury brand in New World Hospitality's portfolio. 

With NWS Holdings as the major shareholder, Newton Resources Ltd, stock code: 1231, was listed on the Main Board of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited.
New World Group participated in "MSF Day 2011" and have raised HK$480,000, becoming the corporation raising the highest amount of the year for the fifth time.
May NWDS opened its third store in Shenyang, namely the Shenyang New World Department Store.

Mar NWS Holdings announced the acquisition of interest in three water projects in Jiangsu province through its joint venture entity with an attributed total investment amount of approximately RMB300 million. The three water projects, namely Nanjing Golden State Chengbei Waste Water Treatment Plant, Taizhou Golden State Water Plant and Taizhou Golden Harbor Water Plant, are already in operation with a concession period of 30 years.
Jan The Teaching Hotel of CUHK invested by New World Group with HK$1.3 billion was opened on 4 January. It comprises Hyatt Regency Hong Kong, Sha Tin and the teaching building named Cheng Yu Tung Building.

Dec The Guangzhou Dongxin Expressway, in which NWS Holdings holds 40.8% equity interest, was officially opened on 31 December 2010.
The world's first K11 Design Store had its grand opening in the K11 Art Mall in Hong Kong.
NWD purchases the remaining 50% interest in Discovery Park Shopping Mall and its 1,000 car parking spaces, making it wholly owned by the Group.
Organized by Beijing Tsinghua University, co-organized by International Congress of Chinese Mathematicians, fully supported by NWD and China Young Leaders Foundation, the second "New World Mathematics Awards" Presentation Ceremony was held successfully in Beijing.
Nov NWDS accredited as "Asia's 200 Best Under A Billion" by Forbes Magazine for the 3rd Consecutive Year.

K11 Multicultural Living Area was unveiled in Hankou in the city centre of Wuhan.

On 16 July, K11 ECO HOME, the first large-scale exhibition project of K11 Eco Action, was unveiled in Chongwen District, Beijing.

New World Group participated in "MSF Day 2010" this year and have raised a total donation amount of HK$410,000, becoming the corporation raising the highest amount of the year. This is the fourth time for New World Group receiving such an honor.

NWS Holdings Limited entered into the Share Transfer Agreement in respect of the acquisition of 8% equity interest in China United International Rail Containers Co.("CUIRC"), Limited. Upon completion, NWS Holdings will increase its interest holding to an aggregate of 30% in CUIRC and remains as the second largest shareholder of CUIRC.

New World Development Company Limited launched a brand new Green New World website, providing direct and immediate access to the comprehensive environmental-related information of the Group. The Group also unveiled its Green New World logo.

Oct Hyatt Regency Hong Kong, Tsim Sha Tsui, a hotel owned by NWD is re-open on 2 October.
The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) together with the adjacent Golden Bauhinia Square has been voted as "One of the 60 top landmarks in China" by 32 major media organizations in China.
Sep L'Arc Macau was officially open, the first hotel in Macau owned by NWHML.

NWCL FY2008 annual report won the Silver Award in "Cover Photo / Design - Housing Related Products / Services"; NWS FY2008 annual report won the Bronze Award in "Overall Annual Report - Conglomerate and the Honours Award in "Overall Annual Report - Diversified Business"; NWDS FY2008 annual report won the Honours Award in "Cover Photo / Design - Retail: Convenience & Department Store category.
NWD joined hands with Wu Zhi Qiao (Bridge to China) Charitable Foundation to build a bridge in Taibai Village, a rural area in Gansu, China and named it as "New World Wu Zhi Qiao" after the completion ceremony on 1 August.

The HKCEC has completed its HK$1.4 billion (US$180 million) expansion, bringing the centre's exhibition space to 83,000 sq m (893,080 sq ft) and total rentable space for events and activities to over 92,000 sq m (989,920 sq ft).
Feb Jointly developed by NWD and School of Hotel and Tourism Management of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hyatt Regency Hong Kong, Shatin, a hotel owned by NWD is launched on 11 February.

Dec NWCL was awarded "2008 China Best Corporate Citizen" for the second year in a row.
Nov Dr Cheng Yu-Tung, Chairman of New World Development Company Limited was awarded the Ivey Business Leader Award by the Richard Ivey School of Business of The University of Western Ontario, in recognition of his contribution to the business and education sectors, as well as his contribution to the establishment of the Ivey Business School's Asian campus.
Harbour Place, a property of New World Group received several accolades in the HKIS Property Marketing Award 2008, including The Best Environmental Construction Award 2008, Top Ten Property Marketing Awards 2008 and Top Ten Property Sales Brochures Awards 2008. The awards were organized by The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors.
Oct Dr Cheng Yu-Tung, Chairman of New World Development Company Limited was awarded the Grand Bauhinia Medal in recognition of his significant contribution to the Hong Kong society.
NWD corporate website was awarded gold prize in e-Inclusion Campaign 2008 organized by Internet Professional Association Limited. The award aims to recognize those barrier-free websites which help provide needy communities with equal opportunities in sharing the benefits brought about by the development of Internet in Hong Kong.
Sep New World China Land held a ground breaking ceremony for Anshan New World Garden Phase 1, the company's first project in Anshan, Liaoning Province.
Aug NWS and NWDS FY2007 annual reports won awards in the 22nd International ARC Awards. NWS won the Bronze Award in "Cover Design: Infrastructure" while NWDS won the Bronze Award for "Interior Design: Retail" and the Honors Award for "Cover Photo/Design: Retail - Convenience & Dept. Store".
Jun New World Strategic Investment Limited ("NWSI") completed the investment in Biomax Environment Holdings Limited ("Biomax"). NWSI's investment in Biomax amounted to approximately RMB200 million.
NWS received the "Corporate Governance Asia Recognition Awards" by Corporate Governance Asia.
May NWCL acquired the site, north of Lincheng Street in Qianshan District High-Tech Industrial Zone in Anshan, Liaoning, with the total premium amounts to RMB 399.8 million. The land, with an area of 228,000 sq m, would be developed into a middle to high-end residential area.
NWD FY2007 Annual Reports won the Gold Award in the category of "Annual Report - Overall Presentation:Corporations", while that of NWS won the Bronze Award in the same category. NWS has also won "Annual Report - Photography" Gold Award and NWCL won the Silver Award in the category of "Annual Report - Cover".
NWD, together with Dr Henry Cheng, Managing Director of NWD, on his behalf have donated more than RMB 50 million, and have donated 300 sets of wireless communication equipment which are worth RMB 15 million to the front-line rescuing team, supporting the disaster-relief effort in the affected areas. Meanwhile, NWCL initiated staff members in regional offices to participate in the donation activities, including donating bloods and raising funds, as well as sourcing other resources and drugs in need to the affected areas. Other subsidiaries in the Group have also been actively supporting the relief work through various ways, to encourage employees to support the earthquake relief work in Sichuan.
Apr New World Hotel Wuhan was officially open.
NWD and China Young Leaders Foundation joined hands with Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation to launch an exhibition project namely "People Power In A New World" Youth Arts Exhibition.
NWS acquired stake in Chongqing Water Group ("CWG"). Together with SUEZ Environment, the Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement and a share purchase agreement with CWG, becoming the strategic investment partner of the latter.

Harbour Place, a property of New World Group is launched.
Nov NWD signed an agreement with Hyatt Hotels & Resorts on 29 November 2007. Hyatt will manage a luxurious 384-room Hyatt Regency Hotel, which is part of the prestigious mixed-used complex in Hanoi Road, Kowloon.
Oct A topping-out ceremony was held for The Chinese University of Hong Kong's teaching hotel which is developed by NWD on the campus of CUHK. The hotel is expected to be completed by the end of 2008.
Sep NWCL was awarded the "2007 Leading Overseas Corporate Brand investing in China Real Estate" in Beijing by "China Real Estate Top10 Research Team" in its latest brand value research report. NWCL has been four years in a row in the list of the "Top10 National Real Estate Developers Brand Value" category.

Dec Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway (Guangzhou-Zhuhai Northern Section) commenced operation. Its maximum capacity can be as high as 120,000 vehicles/day.
Cheng Yu Tung Foundation donated HK$30 million to The Chinese University of Hong Kong for its academic and research development, and to promote academic exchanges.

Following its disposal of interests in Container Terminal No. 3 and No. 8 West, NWS Holdings streamlined its previous Service, Infrastructure and Ports businesses into two divisions: Infrastructure and Service & Rental. The Infrastructure division consists of Energy, Roads, Water and Ports segments while the Service & Rental division comprises Facilities Rental, Contracting and Transport etc.
NWD and Prax Capital jointly invested US$ 12 million into Zhejiang Tianneng Battery Co. Ltd., the largest producer of electric bicycles batteries in China.

NWCL entered into an agreement with Beijing Bank to purchase the remaining of the majority equity interest in a Dalian mixed use project. Nov Sky Connection Limited, which retails a series of duty free tobacco and liquor at Free Duty shops in the Hong Kong International Airport and the ferry terminals in China Hong Kong City and Shun Tak Centre, became a wholly owned subsidiary of NWS Holdings.
NWCL was awarded the "2003 China Top50 Real Estate Corporation".
